Shutara Senjumaru is a Soul Reaper with black hair and six prosthetic arms resembling a thousand-armed Kannon, and her gender is unknown. Since Senjumaru's voice actor is female and Senjumaru is wearing makeup, we will treat Senjumaru as a female in this article. She belongs to Squad 0, and her nickname is "Ohorimori(大織守)". The literal translation of her nickname meaning is to protect with a large fabric, and she became part of Squad 0 by creating Shihakusyo(死覇装) , the Soul Reaper costume.

Senjumaru is an old friend of Mayuri Kurotsuchi, and seems to have been involved in technology development. she entered Mayuri's room without permission and took Ichigo's Zanpakutou without permission. Mayuri was furious because he thought he had locked the door, but Senjumaru said that the door had just opened on its own, making Mayuri even more angry.
