What kind of person is Gin Ichimaru?

Gin Ichimaru is a character with white hair and narrow eyes. In Japan, characters with narrow eyes are called Itome characters(Thread Eyes), and they often betray the main character due to their suspicious appearance. Gin Ichimaru betrays Ichigo's side in the early stages, but eventually becomes an ally of Ichigo's side and entrusts his feelings to Ichigo.

Gin is a former deputy commander of the 3rd division of The Thirteen Court Guard Squads and speaks with a Japanese Kyouto accent. His favorite food is dried persimmons and his dislike is dried potatoes. The reason he doesn't like dried potatoes is because when he ate them thinking they were dried persimmons, they weren't. There was a persimmon tree in his garden, and he distributed the ripened persimmons to his friends. His dried persimmon party is an annual tradition, and his friends seem to be looking forward to it.Because he betrays his friends early on, many characters end up hating the dried persimmons he loved. (For Example Shuhei Hisagi, Izuru Kira...etc)

Gin is a childhood friend of Rangiku Matsumoto. When Gin was young and lived a peaceful and happy life with Rangiku, when Gin returned home, he found the house burnt down and Rangiku lying injured. He looked for the culprit and discovered that it was Sousuke Aizen of The Thirteen Court Guard Squads. From then on, Gin vows revenge against Aizen and joins The Thirteen Court Guard Squads. According to Rangiku, Gin had a ”bad habit of disappearing without telling her where he was going,” and Rangiku disliked this Gin's personality. However, Gin Ichimaru secretly enlisted in The Thirteen Court Guard Squads for Rangiku. However, when Rangiku finds out about this, he also joins the Thirteen Court Guard Squads, and they become the synchronization reluctantly.

About Gin Ichimaru Zanpakutou

Shikai：Shinsou (神槍)

Gin Ichimaru's Zanpakutou is called Shinsou, written in kanji as 神槍"". It Meaning is God's spear. Trigger Command is "Shoot to Kill (射殺せ Ikorose)"

Zanpakutou's ability is the ability to freely expand and contract the blade. It's a simple ability, but its expansion and contraction speed is ridiculously fast.Ichigo is able to flick the blade of Gin's sword with his sword, but any other character would have died without realizing this ability.

At first glance, the style of holding the sword with both hands and holding it in front of the chest looks weak.

Bankai : Kamishini no Yari (神殺槍)

Gin Ichimaru's Zanpakutou changed its name to Kamishini no Yari when it became Bankai. The meaning is a spear that kills gods, which is the opposite of Shikai's god spear. As the name suggests, he stabbed Aizen, who had fused with Hougyoku and became close to a god.

This Bankai is upwardly compatible with Shikai and can expand and contract up to 13km. Gin says, "Shikai doesn't grow as long as they say. It doesn't grow as fast as they say," so it seems that Bankai has changed significantly in terms of length and speed. Another ability of this Bankai is the ability to dissolve cells with the poison applied to the blade. Gin Ichimaru planned to defeat Aizen with this ability, but failed.

Gin Ichimaru's Battle Record is 3 win, 2 no-contest, 1 lose. There are many scenes where Gin Ichimaru overwhelms the enemy with simple sword techniques without using Zanpakutou's Shikai.

Gin Ichimaru's highlight scene is of course the battle with Aizen. Zanpakutou's ability can definitely defeat Aizen, but Aizen was almost invincible at this time, so it's a shame that he couldn't defeat him.

Gin Ichimaru Death Scene

Gin manages to stab Aizen with his Zanpakutou. His Zanpakutou ability, the ability to dissolve cells, nearly killed Aizen, but Aizen, who became invincible after fusing with Hougyoku, quickly revived and killed Gin. It's not clear in the story why Gin didn't defeat Aizen before he fused with Hougyoku. However, Gin was wary of Aizen's Zanpakutou Kyouka Suigetu's complete hypnosis, and I think he thought that he would defeat Hougyou before he could fuse, which would be the biggest chance.
