What kind of person is Ikkaku Madarame?

Ikkaku Madarame is male Soul Reaper who skinhead and wears red makeup around the edges of his eyes. He is the 3rd seat in the 11th squad of The Thirteen Court Guard Squads. He is from a town called Rukongai on the outskirts of Soul Society and is childhood friends with Yumichika Ayasegawa. At that time, he was a battle fanatic and was defeating people who were waiting for him, but one day he met Kenpachi Zaraki and challenged him to a duel. Kenpachi is overwhelmingly stronger than Ikkaku, and Ikkaku loses and tells Kenpachi to kill him, but he is told, ``You idiot, get stronger and come and defeat me again'' and saves his life. While Ikkaku was training, he heard that Kenpachi had joined the Thirteen Court Guard Squads, so he joined the Thirteen Court Guard Squads with Yumichika, and was able to join Kenpachi in the 11th squad.

Ikkaku does it for the fun of fighting, so when he sees a strong opponent, he immediately challenges him to a fight. During his fight with Ichigo, he said that he was lucky that a strong opponent appeared in front of him. Ikkaku has a well-trained body, so much so that when his shoulder comes loose, he uses only his own muscles to put it back on. His Zanpakutou can be transformed into a three-section club or a spear, so it requires considerable combat skill, but he can use it without difficulty. About Ikkaku Madarame Zanpakutou

Shikai：Hozukimaru (鬼灯丸)

Ikkaku's Zanpakutou becomes a long spear when activated. Trigger command is “Grow (Nobiro 延びろ)”. Furthermore, with the trigger command "Split Apar(Sakero 裂けろ)" it changes into a three-section club. The handle of his Zanpakutou was always stocked with blood-stopping medicine, which was revealed to be Zanpakutou's ability. The 11th Squad has a tradition of close combat, but since it is a recovery-type Zanpakutou, it is a Zanpakutou that does not suit the 11th Squad like Yumichika.

The origin of the name Zanpakutou is lampion flower. Lampion flower, written in kanji, means demon's light, and has an image of bad luck, but since the fruit is medicinal, it is thought to have the abilities described above.

Bankai : Ryumon Hozukimaru (龍門鬼灯丸)

When Ikkaku's Zanpakutou becomes Bankai, it will have a large blade with a dragon carved into its back and a giant sword in both arms. Ryumon(龍門) is added to the name Shikai, meaning "gate of the dragon". When his Bankai ability is attacked by an opponent, the dragon's gauge turns red as shown in the image below, and it gradually fills up. When all the gauges are filled, he can unleash a huge attack.

Ikkaku's personality is the complete opposite of his love of combat, and Ikkaku says, ”Unlike me, who has an impatient personality, this Zanpakutou takes a little time.”

In Ikkaku's battle with Edrad Liones, he was overwhelmed by his opponent's strength in the early stages, but Ikkaku didn't seem serious and just didn't want to bankai. Finally cornered, Ikkaku performs Bankai and defeats Edrad Liones.

In the fight with Moe Shishigawara, who uses luck to attack opponents, Shishigawara's ability destroys Ikkaku's Hozukimaru, but since Shishigawara fought with his bare hands, Ikkaku also brought his bare hands into the fight. Shishigawara's luck-based ability did not activate during that time, and he was defeated by Ikkaku's punch.
