What kind of person is Yachiru / Retsu Unohana?

Yachiru Unohana / Retsu Unohana is the fourth division captain of The Thirteen Court Guard Squads. Initially appearing as Retsu Unohana, she specializes in Kaido, a healing type of Kido, and her main tasks include relief and supply.

Unohana's true identity is the first generation Kenpachi, and the captain of the first 11th division. Kenpachi is the name carried by the strongest swordsman of their generation. Before joining The Thirteen Court Guard Squads, Unohana was one of the greatest villains in history, and was scouted by Genryusai Yamamoto for her skills. The reason why she has mastered Kaido is because she can enjoy fighting forever, and is a natural combat fanatic(A type of Berserker or Berserk).

Yachiru, another name for Unohana, is written in kanji as “”. The literal translation is 8000 ryu. The implied meaning is that all schools and all blades are in my hands, and the name Yachiru Unohana, who was the commander of the 11th division at the time, gave herself.

Kenpachi Zaraki admires Unohana and starts calling himself Kenpachi when he was a boy and didn't have a name yet. Also, the name Yachiru in Yachiru Kusajishi comes from Unohana.

About Yachiru Unohana Zanpakutou

Shikai：Minaduki (肉雫唼)

Shikai of Zanpakutou in Unohana is written in kanji in Minaduki. The meanings of the kanji are “肉”=meat, “雫”=drop, “唼”=bite. In summary, it seems to mean something like eating the drops that drip from meat. Trigger Command is unknown.

When the user activates this Zanpakutou, a giant stingray-like monster appears. if you are inside this monster's mouth, it will heal your body's wounds. In the work, it seems that it is also used as a means of transportation because it carries an injured soldier in its mouth.

Bankai : Minaduki (皆尽)

Unohana's Bankai has the same reading as Shikai, but the kanji are different. The meaning of the kanji "皆尽" means that everyone is exhausted. In BLEACH, when you use Bankai, the user will tell you about Bankai's abilities, but Unohana did not give a specific explanation, so the following is just a guess.

There were only two battle scenes in Unohana. And all battles are against Kenpachi Zaraki. Unohana used to be a great sinner and killed many people, so it seems there were many battle scenes. In the story, she seemed to be the captain of the 4th division, concentrating on recovery and replenishment.

Unohana's first battle scene was a battle with the unnamed Kenpachi Zaraki as a boy.
